Frequently asked questions
This is important for easily preventing cancer and heart diseases through its MRI and CT Scan health tests. It can also help understand your digestive health through various endoscopy procedures, depending on the patient’s preference, which can detect indigestion, heartburn, stomach pain, difficulty swallowing, or other abnormalities.
The VIP Shinagawa Dock can be completed on the same day or over two appointment days, depending on the endoscopy procedure.
For Transnasal Endoscopy and Gastroscopy, the procedure can be done on the same day or on separate days, based on the patient’s condition and preference.
Meanwhile, Gastroscopy & Colonoscopy and Colonoscopy require two appointment days, with a minimum interval of three days from the executive checkup to allow adequate time for bowel preparation as instructed by the doctor.
Individuals aged 40 and above and seeking to screen for digestive health, need detailed gastric examination, and prevent heart disease, brain disease, or cancer are recommended to undergo the VIP Shinagawa Dock health package. For those who prefer an endoscopy procedure with local anesthesia, we recommend availing of the checkup with Transnasal Endoscopy or Gastroscopy. However, if you are in your 50s, with suspected digestive health risks, and who are willing to undergo an endoscopy procedure with sedation, we recommend the checkup with Colonoscopy or Gastroscopy and Colonoscopy.
Patients with implanted pacemakers may not be recommended to undergo the Brain MRI + Brain MRA + Neck MRA examination included in the executive checkup. If you wish to proceed, we will require you to bring a Doctor’s recommendation approving that you are allowed to undergo the examination. Additionally, pediatric patients are not recommended to undergo the executive package, unless with a Doctor’s request and depending on the patient’s health condition.
For the executive checkup, patients are required to fast for 10-12 hours before the procedure, with strictly no food or liquid intake. Patients who wear contact lenses are required to bring their container, and patients with eyeglasses are required to bring them, according to the eye examinations guidelines. Patients with multiple ear piercings are also required to remove them during the examination, particularly for the hearing test included in the executive checkup.
For patients undergoing Transnasal Endoscopy and Gastroscopy, preparation includes fasting for 6-8 hours before the procedure and removing any nose piercings (if applicable). For Colonoscopy and Gastroscopy and Colonoscopy, patients must follow the bowel preparation recommended by the doctor, observe 6-8 hours of fasting before the appointment, and avoid consuming meat, vegetables, and oatmeal.
The lab results are released on the same day and discussed during your Doctor’s Consultation, typically at the end of your executive checkup. As for your diagnostic imaging results, they will be emailed to you after 7 working days. This duration is typically longer than our other executive checkups because the Chest CT Scan and Brain MRI + Brain MRA + Neck MRA includes a Double-Reading Method by Japanese Medical Experts. You can also request a physical copy of your results, which you will need to pick up from our diagnostic center.
