For selected complex or inconclusive cases, they may seek an additional expert opinion through our partnership with MNES Inc., a remote diagnostic imaging center in Japan.
MNES provides supplementary professional input when appropriate, while Shinagawa remains responsible for the final imaging interpretation, report, and patient care.

How the Process Works
STEP 1
DIAGNOSTIC IMAGING
EXAMINATION
Your MRI, CT scan, mammography, or other eligible diagnostic imaging examination is performed at Shinagawa Diagnostic & Preventive Care Center.
STEP 2
PRIMARY REVIEW BY A
SHINAGAWA RADIOLOGIST
Shinagawa radiologist reviews and interprets the images. Our radiologist is responsible for the primary assessment and final imaging report.
STEP 3
ADDITIONAL EXPERT OPINION
WHEN APPROPRIATE
If the images present a complex or inconclusive finding, Shinagawa’s radiologist may refer selected images to MNES Inc. in Japan for an additional expert opinion.
MNES provides supplementary imaging observations based on the images and limited information made available for the review. MNES Inc. does not replace the Shinagawa radiologist, issue the final local interpretation, or independently manage the patient’s care.
STEP 4
FINAL INTERPRETATION BY
SHINAGAWA
Shinagawa’s radiologist considers the additional observations from MNES together with their own assessment and remains responsible for issuing the final imaging interpretation. Should there be conflicting interpretations between the local and supplementary professional support, the decision of the local radiologists shall take precedence and will be the controlling decision between the two.
STEP 5
RESULTS AND FOLLOW-UP
Your final report is released through Shinagawa. Your attending physician may discuss the results with you and determine whether any consultation, follow-up imaging, laboratory test, or other clinical evaluation is appropriate.
MNES Inc. does not determine treatment, recommend the patient’s clinical management, or directly provide medical advice to the patient.

Privacy and Secure Information Sharing
When additional review is required, relevant diagnostic images and only the necessary supporting information may be securely shared with MNES Inc. in Japan. MNES is not routinely provided with the patient’s complete medical history.
The disclosure and sharing of information with MNES Inc. are carried out in accordance with applicable data privacy requirements, including the Data Privacy Act of 2012 and its implementing rules and regulations.

physician or Shinagawa’s radiology team.
Most examinations do not require referral to MNES Inc. If additional expert input is sought, the
turnaround time may be extended depending on the complexity of the case and the availability of the
reviewer. The clinic will advise you if additional time is required.
