Frequently asked questions
You need to secure a doctor’s request before undergoing an ultrasound procedure. This ensures that the procedure is appropriate for your health condition. If you do not have a request, you may consult with our doctors at Shinagawa. Once the doctor’s request is secured, you can proceed with the procedure.
The minimum examination time for an ultrasound is 5 minutes, but it may take longer depending on the body part being examined.
Some ultrasound procedures, such as Upper Abdominal Ultrasound and Whole Abdominal Ultrasound, require 6 hours of fasting, while others require no special preparation. Don’t worry—your Patient Care Line Agent will inform you of the necessary preparations before your appointment, and your Medical Coordinator will guide you through the process.
An ultrasound is an excellent tool for preventive care, especially for individuals with chronic health conditions. However, to determine whether it is necessary for your specific condition, we recommend consulting with our doctor first to secure a doctor’s request.
An ultrasound is a quick and non-invasive procedure. However, some tests may cause slight discomfort. Don’t worry—our Medical Team will inform you of any potential discomfort before your procedure.
Your results will be sent via email within 3 to 7 working days, depending on the service you avail of. If you need a hard copy, you may request it in advance when booking an appointment through our Patient Care Line. If you have already completed your appointment and need a copy, you may request it here.
