For many women, changes in their menstrual cycle can be easy to overlook, especially when life gets busy. For Lady, what began as irregular periods last year seemed like something that could wait. It wasn’t until later that she realized how important it was to pay attention to the signs.

Before, I didn’t really mind if I missed my period for a week or even a month. But when I started noticing pimples around my chin and gaining weight very quickly, I knew it was time to have it looked at.

During her annual preventive health checkup at Shinagawa Diagnostic, Lady shared the changes she had been experiencing with her doctor. After reviewing her health profile and symptoms, she was advised to undergo an additional test to further evaluate her condition.

The results ultimately led to the diagnosis of a hormonal imbalance. Left unmanaged, it could have progressed to what is now increasingly recognized as Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome (PMOS), formerly known as Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS).

Looking back, Lady realized that her annual health checkup played a significant role in helping identify the condition early, allowing her to make the necessary lifestyle changes before it progressed.

Today, annual health checkups have become an important part of Lady’s lifestyle. More than helping her monitor her hormonal health, they give her the awareness she needs to better understand her body and stay proactive about her overall well-being.

That one health checkup truly changed my life and the way I view my health. It made me realize that even small changes in your body can be signs of something more. That’s why it’s so important to listen to your body, never ignore those changes, and have them checked early.
