Singer and content creator Ianna Dela Torre was only 15 years old when she was first diagnosed with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS).

At the time, she was already experiencing symptoms like irregular periods and unexpected weight gain, but like many young women unaware of the condition, she dismissed them as normal parts of puberty.

“I thought it was normal that I didn’t get my period every month. I thought  it was just part of the puberty stage. I also started gaining weight, so I decided to have a checkup and that’s when I found out I had PCOS.”

While she received initial guidance after her diagnosis, it wasn’t enough to help her fully manage the condition. Without consistent monitoring or a tailored plan, Ianna struggled to stay on track. Her symptoms persisted and eventually began to affect her confidence and overall well-being.

Wanting a more personalized and comprehensive approach, Ianna discovered Shinagawa Diagnostic & Preventive Care. With individual health services designed to detect, prevent, and manage PCOS, Ianna received the detailed insights she needed.

“I was super interested because as someone who has PCOS and is diagnosed with PCOS, of course, it’s super important that I get checked again. I really enjoyed my checkup because I was guided well and everything was explained properly.”

One aspect she particularly enjoyed was the nutrition and dietetics counseling, which helped her improve her eating habits and introduced her to dietary plans aligned with her fitness goals.

Today, with PCOS becoming an increasingly common condition among women, Ianna is using her platform to raise awareness. She encourages fellow Filipinas to take charge of their health, whether or not they are experiencing symptoms.

“My goal this year is more on self-care and since I’m a content creator, I’ve been sharing my PCOS journey on TikTok. I can see that many can relate because almost a lot of women right now have PCOS. I can share my experience [at Shinagawa Diagnostic] for awareness, telling them that we can prevent it early. ”
