Rock stars are often seen as carefree people, but Chito Miranda, the frontman Parokya ni Edgar, stands out from the crowd. Known for his wit and his band’s enduring musical legacy, Chito is actually a health-conscious individual as well.
He believes that better health is something we can’t just wish for—we must also devote time, effort, and commitment.
“Palaging kong sinasabi sa mga anak ko na “you can’t pray for good grades, and not study”. Same goes sa ating kalusugan. We can’t just pray for good health without trying to be healthy.”
“Para sa akin, mas maganda nang magpa-check up habang wala ka pang nararamdaman, kesa hintayin mo pa na may nararamdaman ka na. Mas madali maagapan, mas madaling bantayan, at mas madaling tutukan kapag may [kailangan] ayusin habang maaga pa [kaysa] kung kelan malala na.”
This thought has guided him in making mindful choices regarding his overall wellness, which then brought him to Shinagawa Diagnostic & Preventive Care.

Just last year, Chito updated everyone on his health progress through a healthy diet and regular exercise.
This time, he decided to take it a step further by undergoing the comprehensive Platinum Shinagawa Dock. The package focuses on diagnosing various health issues, such as abdominal, cardiovascular, and, more precisely, respiratory health. This is especially important for Chito, as he stopped smoking over a decade ago.
It helped him gain a complete understanding of his health status through a range of diagnostic tests, such as a cancer screening blood test, an upper abdominal ultrasound, a chest CT scan, and an MRI scan.
However, he wasn’t walking his health journey alone.
Accompanied by his wife, Neri, and friends such as bandmate Darius Semaña and Neri’s best friend Maricel Diego, they all embarked on a collective path towards better health.
